How to switch your dog's food without the tummy drama
A slow, seven-day swap keeps bellies happy. Here's the simple plan our vets suggest.

Changing food overnight is one of the most common reasons we hear about loose stools. A gradual change gives the gut time to adjust.
The seven-day plan
Start with a quarter new food and three quarters old for two days, then half and half for two days, then three quarters new for two days, before going all in.
What to watch for
A little softness is normal. If it sticks around, slow the change down and book a quick video consult so we can talk it through.
Still not sure?
A real vet or vet nurse can look at your pet on video, from $35 USD.
Book a video consultGeneral guidance only. A video consult doesn't replace an in-person clinic visit.
