Answer
Symptoms usually appear early in life. Affected puppies often have difficulty walking due to weakness in their hind legs and may show a distinctive “bunny hopping” gait, where both rear legs move together. Other signs can include abnormal reflexes and curvature of the spine. A DNA test for the NKX2-8 gene can confirm the diagnosis definitively. Schedule a vet visit to get a clear picture. Our vets are also available for a consult if you want guidance before the appointment.
