I'm so sorry to hear that your cat is going through such a difficult time. It sounds really concerning, and I can imagine you're very worried. The symptoms you described—black eyes, bleeding from the nose and mouth, and a lack of appetite—can be caused by several issues, such as trauma, a toxin ingestion, or a serious underlying health condition like a blood clotting disorder or infection.
Given these signs, it’s important to keep your cat as comfortable as possible at home until you can get more help. Ensure they have a warm, quiet space to rest away from other pets and disturbances. Avoid trying to feed them forcibly, as this could lead to additional distress or choking. Make sure there’s fresh water available at all times, but don't be alarmed if they're not drinking much right now.
You should watch for any additional signs of distress, such as difficulty breathing, excessive lethargy, or if the bleeding gets worse, as these could indicate an urgent issue that needs immediate attention.
I urge you to book a video consultation with a veterinarian through the Dial A Vet platform as soon as possible. Timely professional assessment is crucial in situations like this to determine the best course of action for your beloved cat.
Very Sick Cat - Black eyes, bleeding from nose/mouth, not eating
I’m really desperate for some advice about my cat. She’s been acting really off the last couple of days, and I'm freaked out. Yesterday, I noticed her eyes looked almost completely black, and today there’s blood coming from her nose and mouth. She’s normally such a great eater, but now she hasn't touched her food since this all started. I feel so helpless watching her get weaker, and I just don’t know what to do. Have any of you experienced anything like this with your cats before? I’m planning to take her to the vet first thing tomorrow, but in the meantime, any advice or insight would mean the world to me. I’m really scared about what this could mean.
