Not all houseplants are toxic, but many common ones are and can cause anything from mild gastrointestinal upset to severe organ damage or even death. It's safest to assume all houseplants are potentially dangerous unless you've confirmed their safety with a reliable source. Common toxic plants include lilies (highly toxic to cats), sago palm, philodendron, and azaleas. Until you can verify each plant, physically block access or remove them.
