White spots on your fish generally indicate 'Ich' (Ichthyophthirius multifiliis), a highly contagious parasitic disease. It's very common in home aquariums and can be serious if not treated promptly, especially if left to spread to other fish. The spots are cysts where the parasite develops. You'll need to treat your entire tank, not just the affected fish.
