My dog drank very spoiled milk

I'm really worried and could use some advice. Earlier today, I caught my dog, Baxter, lapping up some milk that had gone bad. I mean, really bad! It was hidden behind some other stuff in the fridge and must have been there for weeks. I didn't even notice until I saw him licking the bowl clean. I immediately made him drink some water, but now I'm freaking out. He's a seven-year-old Golden Retriever, and usually, his stomach is pretty solid, but this is a whole new level of gross. It’s been a few hours, and he seems okay but a bit more lethargic than usual. Should I be rushing him to the vet, or is there anything else I can do at home to help him out? Hello there! I'm sorry to hear about your pup's adventure with the spoiled milk. Dogs are curious creatures and sometimes get into things they shouldn't. Spoiled milk can cause mild stomach upset in dogs, much like it would with us. You might notice symptoms like nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

In many cases, these symptoms are mild and resolve within 24 hours. Make sure your dog has access to plenty of fresh water to stay hydrated, especially if they seem to have a bout of diarrhea. You might consider withholding food for a short period (about 12 hours) to let their stomach settle. Afterward, offer a bland diet, like boiled rice and chicken, in small amounts as their stomach improves.
