Chocolate can be toxic to dogs due to theobromine. The severity depends on the type and amount of chocolate ingested, and your dog's size. Darker chocolate and baking chocolate contain higher levels of theobromine. Symptoms can range from vomiting and diarrhea to hyperactivity, tremors, seizures, and heart problems.
