Male dog is going crazy for my female dog in heat
fellow dog lovers, I really need some advice or maybe just a little reassurance. I've got two dogs, Buddy (a three-year-old golden retriever) and Luna (a two-year-old golden retriever), and Luna just went into heat for the first time. Buddy has been absolutely losing his mind. He's usually a sweet, calm boy, but now he's whining nonstop, trying to mount her every chance he gets, and follows her around the house like he’s glued to her tail. It’s stressing me out, and poor Luna seems exhausted too. I've separated them as best as I can, but Buddy keeps escaping his makeshift barriers. It breaks my heart to see them both so distressed. What can I do to keep Buddy calm and Luna comfortable? Any tips or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated, I'm at my wits' end!
