I don’t know what’s going on, but I really need some advice right now. Somehow, my cat, Whiskers, got locked in the basement for almost five days. I feel completely terrible because I didn’t even realize he was missing until yesterday, thinking he was just hiding around the house like he sometimes does. I found him this morning when I went down to do laundry, and my heart just dropped. He looked tired and was meowing non-stop, probably starving and thirsty. I immediately gave him food and water, and he seemed to gobble it down like he hadn't eaten in ages. He's been super clingy and restless since then, following me everywhere.
