Thanks for reaching out with your question! It sounds like your dog has had a mix of normal stools and one that was a little off. This can happen from time to time and may not always be a cause for concern. A semi-diarrhea type stool can be due to mild dietary indiscretions, like eating something outside or a new treat, or less water intake.
To help manage this at home, you can try feeding a bland diet. Offer small meals of boiled white rice and plain boiled chicken (no skin or bones) for a couple of days, which can help firm things up. Make sure your pup is drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Keep an eye on your dog over the next 24 to 48 hours. If you notice additional episodes of diarrhea, any vomiting, lethargy, a decrease in appetite, or if the diarrhea becomes more frequent or watery, it might be time to get them checked out.
Also, if the issue persists beyond a couple of days or if you notice blood in the stool, schedule a consultation to ensure everything is okay. 2-3 Normal Poops-1 semi diarrhea?
Help, I'm not sure what's going on with my dog! So, I've been monitoring my pup's bathroom habits because he's my little baby and I want to make sure he's healthy. Normally, he has pretty healthy, firm stools, and today started out no different. The first two times he went, everything seemed totally normal. But then, just now, he had to go again, and it was kind of halfway to diarrhea—much softer than usual, but not quite full-blown liquid. I'm freaking out a bit because he seems fine otherwise; he's eating, playing, and acting totally normal, but I'm worried it might be the first sign of something like a stomach issue? Did he eat something he shouldn't have? Has anyone else experienced this with their dog? I know it's not uncommon for their stools to fluctuate a little, but the sudden change makes me anxious. Any advice or experiences you could share would really help calm my nerves!
