It’s mostly in the evenings and it’s always the front paws. I checked for cuts, burrs, or anything in between the toes and everything looks fine. Should I be worried or is this just a phase?
Constant licking can be linked to allergies, stress, or early infection - even if the skin looks fine. Wipe the paws after walks and consider applying a pet-safe balm or diluted (make sure diluted) chlorhexidine solution to soothe mild irritation. If the licking doesn’t stop or worsens, let’s take a closer look. Book a consult with Dial A Vet - we’ll check for environmental or food-related causes.
The "Ask a Vet" forum on Dial A Vet offers general information and helpful tips on pet health, but it's not a substitute for professional veterinary care. The advice here doesn't create a veterinarian-client-patient relationship, and our vets can't diagnose or treat your pet remotely. For emergencies or specific medical concerns, always contact your local veterinarian immediately. Your pet's health is unique, and decisions should only be made after consulting with a qualified professional. By using this forum, you acknowledge these limitations and agree to seek in-person veterinary advice for all your pet's health needs.
