I really need some advice or insights here because I'm getting pretty worried. Over the past two weeks, my cat, Whiskers, has thrown up nine times. I took him to the vet and we did all sorts of tests, but they all came back normal. He’s not showing any other symptoms — he's still eating, playing, and acting like his usual self. His behavior hasn't changed at all. But I can’t help but feel uneasy seeing him vomit so frequently without any explanation. The vet suggested it could be something he's eating, but I've been giving him the same food for months. I’m starting to feel a bit helpless, and I want to make sure I'm doing everything I can for him. Has anyone else gone through something similar, or does anyone have any suggestions on what else I might try? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hello there,
I'm sorry to hear about your kitty's frequent vomiting, but it's good that the tests came back normal and there are no other symptoms. Vomiting in cats can sometimes happen for relatively simple reasons, like eating too quickly, hairballs, or a change in diet. It might be beneficial to slow down feeding with a puzzle feeder or smaller, more frequent meals. Also, regular brushing can help manage hairball issues, especially if your cat is long-haired.
Another possibility could be dietary intolerance. Have you recently switched your cat’s food or introduced new treats? Sometimes a gradual transition to a new diet can prevent an upset stomach.
It's also worth keeping an eye out for more serious signs, like lethargy, diarrhea, or changes in appetite and drinking habits. These could indicate underlying issues, and if any of these symptoms appear, it would be best to seek veterinary care promptly.
Since your cat has vomited quite frequently, it would be prudent to explore further with a professional. It would be a good idea to book a video consult with Dial A Vet to discuss your cat's history in more detail. We can then determine if further action is needed or offer additional guidance tailored to your cat's needs.
